random actor
random actor is a 28-second risograph animation that explores the possibilities of combining digital video with the imperfect nature of risograph printing. Using footage from a workshop with James Grady and Clay Hopper, I experimented with translating the moving image into a printed, frame-by-frame animation.
Process photos of printing
This process challenged me to move back and forth between my digital and physical tools, beginning with editing and preparing my frames digitally, printing them on the risograph, and then finally bringing it back together as an animation. It introduced the quirks and tactile qualities of printing into a medium that is typically precise and digital.
